Sihong Economic Development Zone Logistics Park: A Sample of Digitalized Modern Logistics Hub

China Food Safety News (Reporter: Liu Hong) — At the fourth meeting of the Central Financial and Economic Commission held on February 23 this year, it was emphasized that the modern commercial circulation system should be improved. In the 2024 local two sessions, governments across multiple regions have included the construction and improvement of rural express delivery logistics distribution systems in their 2024 government work reports.

In fact, against the backdrop of accelerating the development of a unified national market, the enhancement of modern commercial logistics infrastructure has received significant attention from the state. In July 2023, the Ministry of Commerce and eight other departments jointly issued the "Notice on the Implementation of the Three-Year Action Plan for County-Level Commerce (2023–2025)," which clearly proposed establishing a county-level coordinated rural commercial system centered on county towns, with towns as key nodes and villages as foundational units. By 2025, the goal is to cultivate around 500 county-level commercial "leading counties" nationwide, along with constructing and upgrading a number of county-level logistics distribution centers, town-level commercial hubs (medium- to large-sized supermarkets and wholesale markets), and new types of convenient village stores.

Under this context, a series of integrated logistics parks have emerged nationwide in recent years. The Sihong Economic Development Zone Logistics Park in Suqian City, Jiangsu Province—designated as a provincial-level PPP demonstration project and a key municipal project—is one such representative example.
